Quarantine Hobbies: Scrapbooking with Patience Knight

With various bizarre circumstances arising and many unique experiences blooming amongst us all, documentation has sprung up to be labeled as crucial. In hopes of this, Patience Knight, 16, from Toledo, Oregon expresses her newfound interest in scrapbooking. Her exposure to this was influenced by her mom, who scrapbooked her own life from early childhood to her adult years. Patience states, “Now, I want my kids to be able to look back on my life, like I did hers.” With this, she highlights how it is a great way to impact future generations. She also found it to be a great outlet to escape to during Covid lockdowns. However, overall, she views scrapbooking to not be used just as something to kill time, but to capture and freeze it. “Preserve your life for yourself and others,” she says, driving the beauty of scrapbooking home. Just a few pages of scrapbooks can tell entire stories of specific time periods, and that holds much importance in our world today.
